1. Go in for the experience

A result of six months of planning, Sabyasachi’s store in Mumbai is more about an experience and less about retail. The designer wants the brides to come in and enjoy the luxurious space he has created. Here you can pick a cup of hand-pressed coffee, read a book, sit back and relax.

2. Take guidance for wedding jewellery

The brides who visit the store for their wedding shopping can seek guidance from the team on jewellery that will complement their outfits.

Well, why should brides have all the fun? The Sabyasachi Mumbai storehouses menswear as well. One of the special suites at the store features a special section for the grooms. Apart from the regular attires, here grooms can find sherwanis and bandhgalas. Tailor-made services are available for men too.

4. Inside Sabyasachi Store in Mumbai

Spread across 8,500 sq feet and two levels, the Sabyasachi store in Mumbai is about both indulgence and inspiration. More of a concept store, it is an overview of the designer’s vision of Indian luxury. Imagine 52 antique rugs, 22 vintage hand-painted chandeliers, 400 ittar bottles picked up from the markets in Lucknow and Hyderabad, and a collection of clocks that make you forget time. That’s a real Sabyasachi store nestled in the heart of the city.

Every corner of the store spells grandeur but has a vintage touch to it. Where else would you find a shining biography of prominent actress Waheeda Rehman kept in a glass box next to a neckpiece worth lakhs?

Even the changing room is as glamorous as a regal movie set and intends to make an individual feel like a Bollywood star. With the help of printed curtains, brass bannisters, and drapery, Sabyasachi has tried to replicate the clubs and Zamindar houses of Colonial Calcutta. Overall, the store in Mumbai’s art capital is magical, royal, and overwhelmingly Indian.

5. Sabyasachi's Save a Saree Initiative

The launch of the Sabyasachi Mumbai store also led to a project known as saving a saree. According to the initiative, the designer curates hand-woven sarees made on a non-profit basis. The aim of the project is to revive the use of Khadi and improve the livelihood of weavers. His efforts have been strongly supported by several Bollywood celebrities.
