1.  Take the non-pallu end and tuck it in near your belly button. Swaddle the saree by completing one round from behind till you reach the point where you first started.
2.  Pull the saree to the front and make pleats. This will leave some part of the saree hanging. Place the pleats on your shoulder and secure it with a pin.
3.  Hold the remaining saree with both your hands and start making pleats roughly about the size of the finger stretch from forefinger to the thumb. Once done, tuck in it. Secure with a pin and tada! You’re done.

Ulta Pallu With A Belt

There are so many different styles of wearing saree pallu but this one is currently raging, especially with celebrities. Though Ulta pallu with a belt is mostly worn by South Indian brides, these days everyone wants to ace it. It’s classy and looks absolutely stunning. More so depending on how the Kamarbandh looks, it gives your ethnic look an edge and makes it chicer. 

Steps:

1. Once you’ve worn your saree, as explained above and secured it with pins. All you need to find is a belt that goes with your saree and jewellery.
2. Take the belt and place it around your tummy, near your belly button. Make sure you secure the saree pallu at the back and tuck it in the belt. So easy, right?

1. Tuck the non-pallu end of your saree on the left side and do one round around your waist, leaving some part of the fabric for the pleats.
2. Take the pallu and wrap it around your body. Secure with pins on the blouse and bring one corner of pallu pleat over the left shoulder and pin it.
3. The wrap around saree on your body might be loose so make small pleats starting from the bottom and go up on the left side. Take it to the waist and pin it. Add a brooch in front if you like.

Draped Around The Neck Pallu

1. For this style, you need to wear the saree exactly in the way you’ll wear the Ulta pallu saree, explained above.
2. Once you are done, unpin the pleats on your shoulder. Make sure these pleats are as thin as possible.
3. Take the pallu and pull it around your neck going from your left shoulder to your right. Throw the end over your left shoulder and there, you have the perfect draped around your neck pallu. 

Low Hanging Pallu

Low hanging pallu is the talk of the town ever since Kareena Kapoor wore it to Sonam’s wedding. We loved her look and if you are planning on pulling it off, fret not. Among different styles of wearing saree pallu, this step by step guide will help you nail this style. The classic Pallu draping style, one that never goes out of trend or perhaps style. This has been a hot favourite of countless women in the past just as it continues to do so even today. 

Steps:

1. Take one end of your saree and tuck it in. Completing one round from behind until you reach the point where you first started. Make sure you wear your petticoat low at your waist.
2. Bring the saree to the front and start making pleats, leaving some part of the saree fabric hanging. Place the pleats on your shoulder and secure it with a pin.
3. Hold the remaining saree with both your hands and start making pleats roughly about the size of the finger stretch from forefinger to the thumb. Once done, tuck in it by leaving the pleats slightly loose, exposing your waistline. Secure with a pin and you’re good to go.

Bengali Pallu

There are so many different styles of wearing saree pallu, but the one that’s probably the most extravagant has to be the Bengali pallu style. It’s evergreen and looks beautiful on brides. If you love this style, you gotta try it too. Doesn’t matter if you are a Bengali or not, we are sure it’ll look just perfect on you.

Steps:

1. Start by tucking your saree an over your belly button and continue tucking it by taking it around the waist from the left side till you reach where you started.
2. Make broad pleats towards the left side of your belly button and fold it so it finishes at your right leg. Ensure that the length levels with the ground and make the pleats look broad. Flatten them and tuck it into your skirt.
3. Pull the saree towards the front onto the left side and make thin pleats. Leave the pallu free and bring the right side corner of the pallu towards the right shoulder. Bring it all the way from under your armpit and tuck it near the right side of your hip waist.
4. Take one end of the pallu and bring it to the front from under your right hand. Once done, place it over your right shoulder and there you go!

Maharashtrian Style Pallu

The Nauvari or the original nine yards from Maharashtra portray the independent and strong women of the state. There are many different styles of wearing saree pallu but this one is particularly distinguishable as it is worn like a dhoti while the upper part is draped like a normal saree. The best example of this wonderful attire can be seen as adorned by Lavani dancers. While draping it is a bit tricky but it makes the movement easier. 

Steps:

1. Start by wearing cycling shorts as there is no use of petticoat in this draping style. Tuck the saree's plane end and turn it right to left. Left doing till you reach where you started.
2. Leaving a yard from one end of a saree, take a few inches from both side edges. Now tie a double knot around the waist centre.
3. Hold the shortest end of the saree bottom, bring it back from the centre of the legs and tuck it there securely.
4. Hold the untied portion of the saree and make a few pleats. Tuck it at the waist centre, while making sure that pleats are facing left.
5. Now make pallu pleats. You can also secure the pallu with a safety pin.
6. Bring those pleats from the back to in the front and place it on the left shoulder. With these different styles of wearing saree pallu, you would be the star of any event.
