With so many eyes on you, people trying to nit-pick every detail and see how you’re looking, getting hitched can be a nervous time for the bridegroom. You have to make sure that everything is taken care of. From what you are going to wear to what you will pair your outfit with, everything needs to be planned in advance. So here is a checklist of things that you should keep in mind while prepping for your big day.

One Month In Advance

1. The Dress

When you only have a month to go, your bridegroom dress should have been finalised or in the process of being finalised. It is important that you do not leave this as a last-minute thing; there are many things that can go wrong in the process of finalising a bridegroom dress so it should be done well in advance.

2. Coordinating Attire

You should very well know what your bride is wearing to be able to coordinate your attire. Additionally, at times if you are coordinating your bridegroom dress with your groomsmen, it is a good idea to go shop with them. This can help you get their inputs on what they would like to wear and then coordinate accordingly.

3. Alterations

Try your bridegroom dress in advance to see if it needs any alterations. Even if the outfit is specially made for you, it is a good idea to check if it fits you the way it should. In case you need alterations, try and send it to the place you got it from, as they know the attire better than anyone will. In case that option is not available, then make sure you give it to a good, trusted tailor.

4. Accessories

Along with selecting a dress, you must choose accessories to go with it. These would include things like shoes, a pocket square or something similar if your dress allows for it. You should also keep in mind any heirloom you might be carrying on your wedding, and visualise it with the outfit. These accessories are important to be taken care of well within time, as they complete your outfit and make it distinct enough to be remembered.

5. Last minute alterations

It is a must that you try your wedding dress a week before the big day. This is an ideal time frame in case some last-minute alterations need to be made. With your wedding right around the corner and the stress that comes with it, there is a possibility of losing or gaining some weight. And that's why you should leave nothing to chance and be prepared.

6. Salon Appointment

It is important to look your best at your wedding. This holds true not just for the bride but also for you. Thus, it is not a bad idea to get a salon appointment to get your hair cut, a facial, maybe even a manicure and pedicure to get your nails clean and smooth. This is a good idea because then, you are not just dressed better but everything about you is immaculate.

7. Gather the necessary items

If it a destination wedding, or even if you are residing some place other than your home for the wedding, it is important that you have a basic checklist of every important item that you might need. Even if you are staying at home, it is a good idea, to gather all of your wedding attire with the accessories, and keep it in one place. This is so that you do not have to run around to find everything at the last moment.

8. Get your basics right

Even before getting dressed for your wedding it is important for you to get your basic grooming right. You should take a good relaxing bath, to calm yourself down. Apply a good amount of deodorant, as it will be a hectic day for you, and smelling bad is not an option. Take care of your hair and facial hair to look the part of the man-of-the-hour. This all should be done even before you get to your main outfit.

9. Get everything ready

Take a last-minute look at everything you need for the D-day. Your attire, your accessories, your shoes. Everything should be in place and be ready to be just put on. Send your attire out for ironing if needed. All the things you need should be flawless and ready to put on.

10. Get dressed

The last but the most exciting part of the process is to adorn yourself in your attire and accessories. To finally see yourself of how your to-be-bride will see you for the first time before you tie yourself to each other.

One thing which you should know all throughout the process is that, whatever you select to wear, must truly be you. Everyone wants to see you in the bridegroom dress that should just be a reflection to what you truly are.
